Jan Reed


Jan Reed is the founder of Silicon Valley Finance Group. She is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of financial management experience in both private and public companies. She has extensive experience guiding start ups through venture backed equity fund raisings, debt negotiations and acquisitions.

Prior to founding SVFG, Jan served as CFO to Dealix Corporation where she provided financial guidance to the company during their highly successful acquisition by the Cobalt Group. Prior to Dealix, Jan served as VP Finance for Vividence Corporation where she successfully managed new equity and debt financings, renegotiated various debt and rent obligations and helped oversee the successful sale of the company to Keynote Systems. Prior to Vividence, she held several financial management positions at Oracle, including Corporate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and Financial Manager of both the Server Division and ERP Division. Previously, she held various accounting and financial management positions at Computer Curriculum Corporation, an educational enterprise software company which was purchased by Simon & Schuster, then by Viacom. Jan spent the first four years of her career at Ernst & Young where she audited both emerging and public companies and earned her CPA.

Jan earned her Bachelor’s of Business in Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with honors. She is also a graduate of Stanford’s Executive Program for Growing Companies. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and California Society of CPAs as well as various local financial networking groups.
