Mary received her degree in Human Resources from the University of Kansas. She entered a tight job market and found that she had to be flexible and nimble in finding a job. This found her working on a travelling construction crew and later obtaining a postgraduate paralegal certificate and working as a legal assistant.
After moving to the Bay Area, she was employed by ARGOSystems/Boeing in Human Resources and was mentored by a variety of HR professionals/executive management in Human Resources Management. That experience was invaluable but Mary soon learned that she enjoyed the smaller company environment where she could think on her feet and problem solve in collaboration with the management team. For over 25 years, Mary has enjoyed working with small companies through various stages of growth and change. These companies include Autonomic Technologies, Microtec Research (Mentor Graphics) and Nanosys.
Working hard and playing hard is how Mary thrives.Love travelling? Yes!Her a 3 month around the world honeymoon: in 2003-2006 a 2.5 year trip with her family of 4 on a 42 foot sailboat from San Francisco to New Zealand (with many stops along the way); co-piloting a 1955 Cessna 180 with her husband to various spots in California and beyond. She also enjoys singing and playing the Ukulele.Mary has completed 3 half marathons and thrives on staying physically active. She also finds pleasure in cooking/baking.Creating an apple pie from scratch is her pièce de résistance.
