Steve brings more than four decades of financial expertise and experience to SVFG.
Steve spent over a quarter century developing and managing Corporate Services programs at Smith Barney and Oppenheimer. He and his team assisted companies in the areas of Strategic Cash investment management, 401k retirement plans, corporate stock repurchase and helped employees exit their corporate stock. He developed and implemented for his clients policies and procedures in areas of Cash Management, Banking, Retirement Plans and others. He actively managed corporate cash, investing a corporations excess cash for safety and yield on a discretionary basis. Additionally, he sat on many 401(k) investment committees and advised and recommended plan changes. His clientele included many startups up to fortune 500 companies including Cisco, Oracle, Applied Materials, Intel, Qualcomm, and others.
His early years were spent running Treasury Departments for MicroPro (WordStar) and Software Publishing Corporation (Harvard Graphics). At those companies he developed policies and procedures and actively managed Corporate Cash, Banking Relationships, Stock Administration, Risk Management, Credit and Collections and Investor Relations.
Steve maintains a California Insurance License with a focus on health insurance needs, long term care, retirement plans. He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Menlo College and Notre Dame de Namur University. He also takes courses in the continuing education program at Stanford.
Steve is a Bay Area native. In his free time he loves to ski and is on the ski patrol at Alpine Meadows where he is also a first aid instructor for the National Ski Patrol. He is also an avid equestrian. He currently is on the executive committee of the Menlo Charity Horse Show where he was previously Co-Chair and CFO. Aside from MCHS he is active in the community where he is on the board of the Asian Cultural Community Center and the Operations Chief for the Los Altos Hills CERT. He has previously been on the board of directors of NCEFT, Vista Center for the Blind, and currently on the board of the Asian Cultural Community Center.
